Pound for pound ratings are, by most traced back to the Sugar Ray Robinson era, during which time Joe Louis, being the heavyweight king at the time, was dominating the headlines of boxing.  While most of the boxing public knew that Robinson was the better fighter, not being in the flagship weight class, meant less popularity.  Since then, this has always been a consideration through out boxing’s modern history.  This pound for pound list is based on technical skill, and level of opposition. Since inactivity is often a result of the business/promotional side of  our sport, it will not be held against any boxer.  As long as the boxer is still active(not retired), they can still be rated.  Popularity is also not taken into consideration, since this is exactly what created the Ray Robinson era pound for pound rating.  This is a subjective list, based on a fictitious set of scenario bouts.  Therefore this is very debatable, and I encourage all to leave comments, and debate your thoughts.
